Entwine
Entwine; to twine with, about, around or together"
The first Entwine paintings and drawings are from 2004 evolving into fabrics and more recently suggested in photographs. As a metaphor and creative suggestion it stays with me; it is the opposite of the geometric, ordered or mechanical, a coming together induced by movement.
In the fabric variation it is hand screen printed, which traditionally is technically limited by the nature of the repeat process, in my translation I aimed for a motif where the repeat flows apparently seamlessly. The join is over 1m in height.
